Worship and Music
Come and join us for worship and music on Sunday mornings and for other special services offered throughout the year!
Sunday Morning Services
10:00 a.m. – Sunday School
11:00 a.m. – Blended Service
11:00 a.m. Sunday Services
11 a.m. Sunday services are held in the Sanctuary and use a blended mix of traditional and contemporary music, although some Sundays may “lean” to more traditional or contemporary. Special music presentations by our Chancel Choir and Youth Praise band can often be heard as well as accompaniment by a variety of musical instruments, solos and small group harmonies. Stories of witness and faith are shared by various members, adult and youth alike, on some Sundays.
Special Services
Special Services occur throughout the year during Lent and Easter as well as Advent and Christmas. An early morning service is held each year on Easter in the Prayer and Meditation Garden on the south side of the church. The Choir prepares special musical presentations in which the community is invited. On the Sunday nearest to Veterans’ Day in November in which we especially recognize and honor and thank our Veterans, Active Duty Military, Police and First Responders for their service, the Chancel Choir has traditionally presented a moving musical tribute to each branch of Military Service as our Veterans and Active Duty Military stand when the music representing their branch is heard.
Joint Evening Community Services
Joint evening Community services are held with local churches First UMC Mesquite, St. Stephen UMC Mesquite and New Covenant UMC Sunnyvale at various times of the year, especially during the Summer months. The last “Vespers” service was held in August 2017 at New Covenant UMC Sunnyvale. The newly appointed St. Stephen UMC Mesquite pastor, Roy Atwood, presented the message.
Service Schedule
The schedule for all services are posted as part of the Church Calendar and shared at Sunday services, in flyers, on the website and in the “Marker” newsletter.
We are currently working on adding videos of the Sermons, special presentations and music on the website.
